LBS Financial Credit Union donates to CHS Long Beach
During the 2024 holiday season, LBS Financial Credit Union (LBSFCU) brought holiday cheer to families served by Children’s Home Society of California (CHS) through a generous donation to the CHS Long Beach office. This gift, which included over 400 toys and gift cards, was made possible through the collective efforts of LBSFCU employees, who each contributed 1-2 items as part of the credit union’s annual giving campaign.
According to Larry Henderson, CHS Program Administrator III who accepted the gift, the donation came about when LBSFCU reached out to CHS, recognizing the organization’s vital role in supporting families in the Greater Long Beach area. While LBSFCU has a tradition of donating to community organizations during the winter holidays, this marked the first time CHS’s Long Beach office was a recipient of their generosity.
The substantial donation’s impact is undeniable at this time of year. Henderson estimates the combined value of the toys and gift cards could easily exceed $4,000. The thoughtful contributions from LBSFCU staff are a testament to the power of community collaboration and a shared commitment to making the holiday season brighter for children and families in need.
In addition to the donation, LBSFCU highlighted this donation in an article published on their website. This earned publicity not only recognizes CHS’s work but also provides an excellent opportunity to attract new donors and build additional community partnerships.
